Center for Addictions and Mental Health (Toronto, Ontario)

The Center for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) (http://www.camh.net/), located in Toronto, Ontario, is the largest teaching hospital for addictions and mental health in Canada.  CAMH’s mandate includes clinical care, policy development, research and health promotion. First Episode LEARN (Learning Employment Advocacy Recreation Network) provides social, educational and vocational services to persons who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. The goal of the program is the integration of participants into mainstream community life and positive social roles.

Sound Times (Toronto, Ontario)

Sound Times (http://www.soundtimes.com/) is a member-run consumer/survivor initiative in downtown Toronto, Ontario.  Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Sound Times offers a range of services including advocacy, peer support, referrals, recreation, harm reduction support, mental health and justice services and assistance finding basic resources such as food, clothing and shelter.

The Mad Students Society (Ontario)

The Mad Students Society (MSS) (http://www.madstudentsociety.com/) represents the voice of post-secondary students who have current or past experience with the psychiatric system.  While MSS is primarily Ontario-based, it has national and international links. The MSS aims to identify barriers and shared experiences for survivors/consumers within the education system, foster alternative perspectives on the bio-medical model for dealing with emotional crisis, and build a foundation for survivor/consumer self-advocacy.

School District #61 (Victoria, BC)

The Greater Victoria School District #61 (http://www.sd61.bc.ca/) is located in, Victoria, British Columbia’s capital city.  In addition to Victoria, the district also includes the municipalities of Esquimalt, Oak Bay, View Royal and a portion of Saanich and the Highlands.  There are a total of fifty-six elementary, middle, and decondary schools in the district, which serve over 20,000 students from kindergarten to grade 12.

Pacific Centre Family Services Association (Victoria, BC)

Pacific Centre Family Services Association (http://www.pacificcentrefamilyservices.org/) provides counselling services and education for individuals, couples, families, children, youth, and groups of all ages in Victoria, Colwood, Langford and Sooke. By encouraging healthy patterns of living, Pacific Centre Family Services enhances and promotes the quality and dignity of life of individuals and families within our diverse community.  Their programs include an innovative email youth counselling, information and referral service.
